Sophy is a media COO with over 20 years working in leadership roles at some of the UK’s most successful production companies. An experienced strategist, Sophy is practised at creating company budgets, being responsible for P&L and overseeing finance, production, legal, HR and operations teams. On the commercial side she has been responsible for raising finance, negotiating commercial terms and overseeing the global distribution of content.

Sophy was a founder member of the award-winning production company Betty, producers of the highly acclaimed series The Undateables (C4), My Dream Farm with Monty Don (C4) and various series with Bear Grylls (C4, ITV, Discovery, Dragon TV). Sophy was instrumental in growing the company from start up in 2001 to the sale of the company to Discovery Communications in 2011.

Sophy has also worked as a COO at production giant, All3 Media, where she headed up operations for Maverick TV, producers of award-winning children’s series Operation Ouch (CBBC) and Optomen TV, producers of long running hit, The Great British Menu (BBC2). She was responsible for implementing environmentally conscious and sustainable new methods of production.

Sophy has taken consultancy projects at various content creating businesses and organisations, including reviewing the organisational effectiveness of the TV and creative departments at Comic Relief.
